Shavekit has launched a campaign on Seedrs that will ensure you never run out of razorblades when you need to trim your facial (or other) hair.

The subscription-based service is designed for all men, whatever their style ot however often they like to shave.

The company said on its campaign page: “We’ve started with razors because there is a very clear problem to solve. We feel that the existing choice is very limited, prices are very inflated and the majority of men don’t enjoy the process of remembering and shopping for replacement blades.”

Customers can choose to have their razor blades delivered monthly, bi-monthly, every third month depending on their shaving schedule.

As a sweetener to the deal, when customers sign up, they’ll get a handle thrown in for free.

Shavekit’s ecommerce platform makes it super-simple for customers to change their order, pause deliveries or upgrade their membership.

“Razors are just the beginning, the long term plan is to build a range of distinct men’s grooming brands to restock the entire bathroom,” the company said. “Our shave cream is planned to launch in Q4 2015 and our moisturiser and hair products in 2016.”

The bootstrapped startup now has more than 4000 customers, half of which have been active for more than six months, showing longevity of interest.

Shavekit plans to grow this user base via an enhanced marketing plan on existing and new channels. It wants to spend the rest of its investment on developing new products, better packaging and improve retention further.

The company hopes to build a brand round each of its products, which will increase margins and result in a more profitable business.

“Razors are our entry point to the bathroom, the addon products will be where we make our margin and continue to build the “moat” around our business as well as diversify income sources,” said.

You can support Shavekit on Seedrs to help it reach its goal of £150,000 in return for 5.84 per cent equity.
