Chatrbell has launched on Kickstarter and it claims to be the best smart doorbell on the market.
The unit comprises a doorbell that attaches to the inside of your door and a free app for smartphones and smart watches that both you and your friends can download to monitor who’s at the door.
After setting up your ID from the app, you’ll see the ID of your friend pop up as you approach their house if they have the Chatrbell unit (AKA Flare) set up. You can then trigger the doorbell by pressing the green bell icon that appears by their name. Your friend will also see who’s calling thanks to the camera on your device.
If someone rings your doorbell, you’ll get an alert on your phone too, so if you’re not in, you are able to message them by sending a pre-set message such as “I’m on my way,” “Sorry I’m busy,” or anything else you wish to say.
You can also start a live chat if you want to discuss plans for later or request a photo so you can check it really is who the person says they are.
Chatrbell is also working with delivery companies and other businesses that may need to come to your door, such as engineers. When they approach your property, they can ring your doorbell using a verified identity so you know they are who they say they are instantly.

Chatrbell is available from Kickstarter from $25 (£16) (but you may want to get multiples so all your friends have them) and the campaign is due to end on July 27, so be quick!
